new tools?

John the tile

ok guys so ive gotta take the plunge now and actually buy some tools.

Ive got a couple of bathrooms jobs coming up, ceramic wall tiles 25 by 33cm tiles, . Also might have a floor to do but im unsure of the size and type of the tiles. So im gona get all the tools, but my main concern is the dry cutter. Its the price of em that worries me. also all the different types.?

Im hoping to be doing the odd tiling job here and there, but i suppose you just never know what size tiles ur gona get next?

Any advice?

Thanks

If you can't afford the cutter you want you can always hire one to start out but after your first few jobs you'll think, 'why didn't I buy one'!!

thanks - yeah that mini loks a bargain. will almost defo get one of them..

Today ive found out the first tiles ill be cutting are bathroom wall 400mm by 300mm. Not the figures i stated above😳.

So im thinking that ill need to buy something bigger than the mini.

Ill have good look through trade tiler when i get a minute. The tiling isnt being done for about 3 weeks as ive just done the plastering.

I bought what I thought was a sweet deal dry cutter for 80 quid, turned out to be rubbish the first time I used it and ended up buying a Rubi TR-400 and a TS-600plus, far more expensive but they do a fantastic job.
So 80 quid wasted then. I've learn't that even if I'm not going to use a tool much I still get the best otherwise I'm not happy with what I've got until I do.
If you really can't stretch that budget then please do try the cutter out on a tile first before you buy, check it's cut and how square it cuts and does it cut square every time, how thin of a slither will it cut before it shatters the tile, check everything about it bud otherwise you might find yourself spending twice as much the following month and throwing that 90quid away.
