I have only used the Silicon carbide pads on dry polishers but ATS recommended getting a water fed polisher for his tools so I bit the bullet and got one it attaches to a garden hose fitting but I am looking for a large pressure sprayer to use with it has any one got a similar set up ?

Ahhh now I have tried that method. First I tried the pressure container that comes with the Marcrist drill set but the water didnt last long. I know have a garden wed killer bottle that hold a lot more water. You could even get the pro version that the council guys use which are strapped to their backs....but anyway its a good method as it make the whole thing more portable especially if the tap is in the wrong place or you have to share the tap with other trades.

whats the benefits of the waterfed system? pads will last longer obviously, no dust but could you not get dust extraction for the dry one?

Gary... you could rig this up and then you have a portable system to use from a 25 ltr bucket.. no long lengths of hose pipe then etc.. just power , but you will need that for the polisher anyway.. >> Rubi Water Pump (B100) (select voltage) £0.00 in stock - next day UK delivery

i use my wet polisher with a wet pump from a wet saw. just a cable on it and a tube and ready. on the photo you see it on the flex cube.

General Benefits on vacuum brazed tools/ polishing pads:-

Reduced cutting temperature = longer tool lifespan
Water feed removes waste material and stops clogging.
Water "lubricates" the cutting head at the actual cut so it makes it a smoother operation.
Wet polishing pads are less expensive to buy than dry and are easier to create a better polish with. Dry takes a bit more practice/experience.

There's a lot of upside if you're going to be a regular user of profiles and polishing pads. A regular user would recoup the outlay on a wet polisher in longer tool/pad lifespans.

I've seen rainsco's solution a few times, a pump in a bucket of water is a sensible idea.
