new website help

[Colour Republic]

Hi guys, just looking for some advice and feedback on my website. I need to get my finger out of my bottom and get it done! as all i've got is an image posted on my website right now, it was supposed to be for a couple of weeks but has now been there for 4 months! www.colour-republic.com

below is a mock up of what I want the home page to look like, I've pretty much copied it from a website I like www.barrafina.com I want mine to work in much the same way, what do you think?

Hi mate, i think their site looks fine apart from from the writing that sits over the top of the photo, thats a bit annoying cos i wanna see what's behind it, but apart from that i think it's fine............ maybe you could edit it a bit and get that writing underneath or something.

Forgive me but I think the site makes you look expensive.

When I'm looking through the net for stuff I look for cheap and uncomplicated sites. Yours looks complicated, and thus you must be expensive.....

I am most likey totally wrong, but first impressions and all that.......

I suspect you are also going for a particular market, which I am not part of. If I am right then go for it.
