Silver Birch

Hi all I am relatively new to this after completing a rather poor college course.
A friend has asked me to tile three bathroom floors with sparkly quartz tiles - no ufh - smallest one on cement substrate other two on 1st floor on chipboard. Am I right in thinking I should stick and screw 6mm hardi backer or similar to chipboard and then tile over with a flexible adhesive?

Obviously these tiles look better with a small grout gap, would I be better off with a flexi grout and increasing the gap to avoid any movement?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers
