Newbie oversight

Hi all,

I've just tiled my shower cubicle and now finished the bathroom floor. I only have the walls to go!

Floor is 18mm marine ply (replacing floor boards, screwed to joists every 180mm and across nogins), 10mm Wedi board with joints in mesh tape and thunder, heated floor mat in self levelling compound.
Tiles now laid on top!

Just realised a bit of an oversight. I laid the 10mm wedi using only screws. A screw every 200mm all over the boards. I forgot to thinset underneath.

Will this be ok??

It's well screwed and onto a flat substrate , so should not have voids ...

Thanks for the advice, that was my thought, but only just spotted my school boy error.
The missus would go mad if I had to start again!

yer u should be ok in a round a bout way you have partly decoupled it by not glueing the wedi down. the mesh on the ufh should give it strength.
bet u glue it next time lol

been thinking of taking up chess but may stick to draughts untill i get that window fixed

Thanks Ray. I used mesh tape and thinset on the joints between the boards too.

I thought I'd done a fairly good job till I realised!!!

Looking at the pic of the UFH mat , where did you put the sensor probe ?

While I'm admitting to errors - One more issue: one tile above the UFH doesn't have enough adhesive under one corner.
Can I get some adhesive under a corner (no grout applied yet)?

No, they have a slight 'pattern' to them. From CTD tiles..

Is there a way round me getting some adhesive under the corner (baring in mind that the tile is above the UFH)?

Mix some fast set very thin and pour it between the joint. That should do the trick.

yes mate. you can use slow set if your not in a rush all depends on what you are doing
