Newbie saying hello

Hello to all.

Newbie (dicko1973) here, not been on the course yet. All set for November 12.

Decorator by trade and sick of being bottom of the food chain in the industry. Booked the course for a complete change of career then when I got my date quickly proceeded to get the doubts. Am I doing the right thing? can I make it work? can you learn it in a week? so on and so on.

But the forum really eased the doubts and I cant wait now.

Anything to do with getting yourself industry qualified, then please ask me. All my advice is for any centre thats accredited in the UK, not just us here at Chase Tiling Academy.

Thanks everyone.

Looked at some other forums out there and was very wary bout signing up.
Alot of sniping and negativity bout the one week courses.But you guys have justified my decision to sign on here.

Hi there Dicko.

Theres many on here that have started tiling full time after just a weeks course and are doing well with it, some have failed, due to demand or just not getting the calls coming in or what have you.
Alot of it come down to how well you market yourself and so on, but don't expect to do a weeks course then straight onto high paying customers by the hundred, like what many courses will tell you.

Once you have done a course, the information on here is worth far more than any course fee you could pay, ask away and theres always someone who can answer anything you might need to know propperly, without bias towards any products or places.

Why don't you run the two together, decorating and tiling. I run a landscape company and tile as well works a treat for me, outside in the summer inside for the winter. Jack of all trades u may think, but i keep busy 7 days a week if i wanted, so my advice is run them together.
