Have done that a couple of times when a hole is needed that I don't have a cutter for. Doesn't take as long as you would think.

for the other thousand holes. I will be mostly using the diamond hole saw.

Ive done that a lot of times with porcelain before I got hole cutters,only thing very dusty if you cant do it outside.

I had to do this today on a ceramic as I was jumping between 2 jobs 30 miles apart and left my cores on one of the jobs. Took me about 3 mins to make a 30mm hole using just the grinder and hammer. It's too noisy, dusty and scary though. I'm trying to limit my use of the grinder not increase it.

Ive cut circular holes in porc with a grinder, but in a different way also working from the back.

What on earth was that lol. Worst case scenario I have a curve cutting balde quite excpensive so I save it for speacial occasions lol. But thats a 60 sec job after marking with just a good quality blade
