Is it because of the weight that would make you change to powder addy.


Not as such, it's the size of the tile, tubbed adhesive is a dispersion adhesive, it needs contact with air to set, if the tile size is too great the adhesive towards the centre may never dry out. Bagged adhesive sets by chemical reaction, so size doesn't matter.
