old adhesive and special grout?

Hi guys, here's the first couple of the silly questions about my kitchen tiling that I assured some of you I'd be asking!
I've now got all my old tiles off my walls, but there is still some of the old adhesive there. Do I need to completely remove this and sand the walls or can I just leave it there?

2nd daft question, I know porcelain tiles need a special adhesive, but what about grout? Can I use a normal (anti-bacterial, anti mould I guess) one for kitchen walls? Is there a particualrly good ready mix one that I can use? (i'm not mixing myself as I know what my cakes look like when I make them from scratch, so there's no way I'm mixing adhesive or grout!!)

Cheers in advance

Always best to remove as much of adhesive as possible then sand down smooth, then I'd prime the walls to remove the dust and tile away.

For porcelain tiles on walls I would always use a powdered cement based adhesive.

For porcelain use very flexible grout as normal grout does not bond to porcelain as good as say ceramic tiles.

if you dont want to mix adhesive granfix multifix is suitable for porcelain but you will need to mix the grout a polimer modified or flexible is suitable for porcelain

Ok, looks like I'm going to be mixing then, given your advice.
Any special tips?
