PC help please!! I'm stuck!!!

Ripping hair out time... ok, got my new pc, with the old hard drive in it, and new to me Windows 7. I don't remember my email password to set up my email account again with the server, so what do I do to get my emails again? And does that mean I have lost all my email addresses?? This is probably really simple, but I haven't a clue what to do... :cry2:

Ring whoever provides your email account and ask them??

Im sure they'll be able to identify your account through your email address, infact you can probably get it reset on the providers website, i forget my sky username and password all the time and just go onto the website and reset it.

Who was your email account with ? as Oli says, if you try and set it up again there is normally a, ' I forgot my password' type link.

Yes, will do, will have to be tomorrow now, the office is closed... hoping to find my addressbook somewhere in the old hard drive... takes a bit getting used to everything new and reloading programs again, while still mosaicing...

try C:\Users\User\Contacts for your contacts, or if your old hard drive is now a slave it might be D:\Users\User\Contacts but they might have been lost if the operating system was removed from it

You could always slave your old hard drive in your new pc, this would then give you access to your old files and 'might' even be able to import settings from your old account ?????

Yes that's what's been done, but loads is lost, I realize how much.. all my bookmarks, and no contact files to be seen, and all my old emails, too, I set my account that nothing would be ever be saved on the server once received... good grief.......... I use the Incredimal Premium Program... I might hace some stuff on the penstick I had tried to back up my pc on, but haven't got that far yet... technology, eh...

I can access my emails off Lou's lappy via some sort of proxy mail server, but tbh, I probs only bother checking my emails about once every 6 months or so.
