phone up grade advice..

due an upgrade next month, looking at the i phone 3gs.....any one got one, had one? are they any good or not..

any other phones you can recommend, dont want to spend a fortune per month....

3gs is a great phone, I'd say you'd be able to get the 4 on a cheap deal now that the 4s has been launched. I've just put the iOS5 software on my 3GS and it had a few glitches to start with but is running fine now. I'm not due an upgrade til June so I'll have to wait a bit longer for the 4s.

i can get the 3gs for £25 a month, the 4 about £45 a month, a bit to much at the momment..

There are better deals than that about mate, I'm sure O2 had a £30/35 per month contract for the 4. I'll have a look, back soon!

Not sure how good the 3 Network is, have heard a few people with problems on it.

thanks for that bri, it is a good deal, but i want to stick to vodafone.....the wife, kids, and family are all vodafne and we get free calls to each other, and vodafones about the only network that gives good reception round here..

Same here Andy I think it costs me £5 or £6 a month for voda friends for free calls, hardly use the landline to them now, but not sure if our brains are being fried.

My phones are on vodafone and to be honest they don't have the best deals about, if you've been with them for a while they normally look after you ok. Oh, and don't get a blackberry, they are without doubt the worst piece of technology ever created by man!

I've got a Motorola Defy and it worked well until the earpiece went on it, could only use loudspeaker. Is a common problem with that model, but Vodafone gave me a new one even after 14 months. The phone is water and dust resistant, and it really is. Have dropped it had it on dirty jobs and it was like new before new one came.

I think I may go for Razr when u/g is due in May.

I've got mine in a cheapy case, had it since christmas (not the one just gone) and I treat it even worse than the wife but still going strong. The back broke at one point and is still cracked but its not caused any problems. It does have it's moments but it's a bit like going out with a supermodel, you're not gonna chuck her out of bed for breaking wind. Hands down the best phone I've ever had and amazingly the longest lasting

Had mine for longer than any other phone I've had and if I broke it then I would be straight to the store for another. I've dropped in on concrete, stood on it, sat on it... Anything you can think of and all it has are a few scratches on the back

500mb is more than enough. Whats eats up your data allocation is video streaming, so stay off YouTube and you will have ample. Just general browsing uses minimal Mb.

Even then I stream a couple of videos a day and have never used over 100mb. An mp3 is approx 1mb for a minute and a minute of YouTube video is about 2mb for avg quality per minute.
