Hi, Just been to look at a job and the previous tiles have been removed. As would be expected the plaster skim has come off on most of the walls. The base coat is not a bonding coat but sand and cement. When rubbed the surface is quite loose IE. the sand rubs off. I will be using a cement based adhesive (Mapei Kereflex) would it be OK to prime the walls and tile, or would you get the walls re-skimmed? If so how long would you wait before tiling?
