Thanks guys, yeah i think your right if there's no feedback i will stick to one thats well known.
Its really tiling i would like to do and have since seen NETT offer a course which also includes plastering which could be very useful too.
Still contemplating between either the four week route or four days??.
:huh2:

i know the place has been going for about 3 years or so, as it was their last time i was around paisley.
i know they do courses on weekends and evenings also, so you may be able to fit 4 weeks learning in the space of 2 best to talk to them, plus your got the airport near it so you can fly down and look at it.
nett seem very popular so would also be worth having a look.
some colleges may be able to meet your needs locally and personally i find that way suits me better than a short course.

Hi Scottyboi

I have read the course content for the plastering at the NETT and it takes alot in for 4days.

The Plasterclass (google it) that you are asking about is the same plaster course i was talking about in Johnstone. From their course content on their web site and what my mate says you only really learn how to skim and finish in the 1st week.

So the NETT plaster course sounds a better bet

plastering will take you alot longer to learn than tiling and hands on experience is the best way for both jobs.i served my time as a plasterer in the 80's(old git) and it was a 3 year apprentiship and i got my advanced craft c&g.done tiling while i aeved my time as it was part of trowel trades then before it became its own trade(correct me if im wrong guys:builder2:)
been doing tiling as my main job for over 10 years now and its alot less hard on your body as plastering.i started a lad that went on a course down south and he said he learned more in 1 week out in the field with me
as he did on the 4 week course.so my advice is find someone thats willing to take you along with them and show you the ropes as i did with that guy.hes now out tiling for himself now lovin it.i think its the best way mate.

id try the one at nett the 4 day one you ll be suprised what you can learn i went on a 4 day plastering course i had a bit of plastering experience before hand ive plastering proffesionally along with tiling i personally think that there is more practical learning to tiling than plastering

plastering is a skill no doubt about it some can master it pretty quickly uv either got or you aint luckily i picked it up pretty quick on my 4 day course and my plastering has had some good reviews even be time served plasterers

obviously you wont learn everything about plastering in 4 days if you interested in rendering dashing and other plastering finishes then i would suggest a longer course

I've done the Plasterclass rendering and roughcasting course, plastering course and the ames taping one. Enjoyed it very much and Joe is a really nice guy. Loads of experience and the set up is really good. Did not do the tiling course but he was running at 100% capacity. Well worth the money. I went on and built my own house and found his courses excellent. You aint gonna b a plasterer in one week but the basics are taught and you can come away and practice..practice....practice. Go for it. Any specific questions you have I'll try and answer.
