Platinum notched trowel

Does anybody use a platinum notched trowel? Iv been looking at them on line and want one but Im very aware that Im a sucker for tool **** :drool5: Wanted to know if they are any good?

I think BrianC has a some platinum tools...the git won them :mad2:
As far as i am aware they are known for being very pricey and heavy.

And not easy to use.. Some reports say the grout floats fall apart...

|For the cost of them i would rather stick to what i know works for me.

I think you might be right, Iv found them for £22, I dont mind paying that for a good tool but Iv bought far to many tools over the years because Iv liked the look of them. Im worse than a woman and hand bags!!:dizzy2:

I have a set of platinum, all 3 and hardly use them.

The odd occasion will try them due to the money I paid but usualy go straight back to my regular trowels

I have my eye on a emerald encrusted grout float, I will need a better strongbox in the van:lol:

Unless the substrate is perfectly flat, you struggle to get the tile flat using the trowels. They are all very large and expensive. They are built well to be fair and look the part, but at the end of the day you will hardly ever use them.

I wouldnt bother with any of them mate.

Yes Neale i have a set..never been used,very heavy and as Dave said about the grout float it came away from the metal body..however i thought it was an excellent float apart from that.
