Hi
I'm looking to tile a cloakroom floor with 450x450 porcelain tiles (and later a small bathroom). I'm a competent DIYer and tiled walls before but not floors. As usual I like to be well informed before starting a job and hoping on some advice or direction to further reading.
It is wooden floorboards which slants about 8mm over a 2m length (and some unevenness along the length). I was thinking of ply screwed down, SLC and then a backerboard. Is this recommended? What thickness ply and backboard should I use to ensure the floor is sound, bearing in mind I want to minimize the height.
I've found a lot of advice in this forum and on the web in general about the thickness of ply to use but nothing when trying to do the above.
Thanks
Chi
