plywood or backerboards

what do you prefer to use and why..on wooden?chipboard.

TBH...never used backerboards wooden floors as i always ply as its cheaper and you can tile once screwed down..as with bb you need the adhesive to set first£hr wait.

whats your preference?

Used both. Backer boards more expensive so most customers opt for ply. Also backer boards ( think you mean No More Ply type ? ) Take more time to fix.
Would say ply if I had an option.

On chipboard the decoupling membrains can be stuck down vinyl adhesive but do like the 6mm hardie

Hardie for me. Always put across the height issues with using ply. If it's only a small bathroom floor,their ain't that much off price diff. Bigger area's then ply as cost does come into it.

What do I use to clean the vinyl adhesive off my trowel with ? Every time I use it with Ditra end up throwing my trowel away !!:incazzato:
