if the floor has movement the bs standard is 15mm ply but that's hard to find so next one is 18mm. it would be best to put 6mm backerboard on this too as ply is not ideal to tile on. if the floor is being raised too much with the ply you could always remove the original floorboards, strengthen the joist/add noggins then lay the ply then backerboard. you can use slc on this provided it's ok to do so on wood as per instructions on the bag.
