i will be sheeting my hall floor for tiling and was thinking about 9mm but would like to no what some of you think

i take its floorboards and joists? how much deflection (bounce/movement) is there in the floor?

yeah floorboards, the floor its pretty good but i dont really no what you would consider bad

while im on here, is it ok to use self leveling compounds inside on wooden floors?

if the floor has movement the bs standard is 15mm ply but that's hard to find so next one is 18mm. it would be best to put 6mm backerboard on this too as ply is not ideal to tile on. if the floor is being raised too much with the ply you could always remove the original floorboards, strengthen the joist/add noggins then lay the ply then backerboard. you can use slc on this provided it's ok to do so on wood as per instructions on the bag.

Can you physically feel or see the floor deflect as you walk or jump on it.?

theres a bit of movement and creeking when you jump on it

Then that needs dealing with before hand.

lift the floor boards and check the joists and replace or strengthen
