Polycell "3in1 Problem Wall Primer"

I have a wall that I think is plasterboard, not sure as I am not used to the materials here in the UK. It has a layer of paper and below that there is some crumbly stuff. In the kitchen I removed the tiles and it did came off quite nicely :hurray: Now I want to re-tile the area and I was told to use a primer so I bought Polycell "3in1 Problem Wall Primer". Is this any good for the kitchen or can I expect problems?

Its a product to be used prior to painting so I wouldnt use it if you're tiling.
