Porcalin tiles onto plasterd wall

have a job coming up tiles using a fairly large think they were something like 250x550 asked the question first how long has the plaster been layed wich was 5weeks going to brush it down but any recommendations on adhesive?? (using bal products ) will the rapid set cement based bagged addy be ok?tubbed is a no go I assume!? Also should i prime it to be safe side only a feature wall in a kitchen of roughly 3sqm nothing to big area wise...

Yes the plaster will need priming, but you are back to the question of weights.
Are these tiles within the parameters allowed for new plaster walls and which adhesive do Bal recommend for this tile/surface type?
A small job but lots of thought required.

Weight wise it's slightly over the 20kg guide lines working out to be 25kg psqm I thought priming would be the best Option...Evan if it isn't a shiny finish!?? Well the rapid set bagged is recommended for porcalin but due to the weight wasn't too sure !

just come across this on the bal tech website i thought tubbed ready mixed would be a dead cert no :-?

If using BAL cement-based powdered adhesives, apply 2 coats of neat BAL Prime APD or BAL Primer or 2 coats of BAL Bond SBR diluted 1:2 with water.
If using BAL ready-mixed adhesives, priming is not necessary UNLESS the plaster is very shiny and dusty. If so, brush surface with stiff bristle brush and prime with BAL Prime APD or BAL Primer diluted 1:1 with water or BAL Bond SBR diluted 1:4 with water.

im going to prime the wall with bal primer apd and use the rapid set bagged flex addy the wall its self i believe is plaster over brick not plaster board but would rather use the flex to be on the safe side due to tiles size im going with the bagged addy desicions have been made haha

Terry - tubbed adhesive is not recommended for tiles over 30x30 cm and not for porcelain as the adhesive will not dry out in the middle of the tile.

Yeh I wasn't sure what tile size they go up to tubbed addys that is... im sticking with the bagged addy bal do a new range now wich they have discontinued the old green rapid set flex

Terry, I wouldn't use neat primer as there's a chance it will skin over, I always go for a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio.

If you use some primers neat then there's a chance that it can skin over.
I always water down primer to eliminate this problem.

Oh yeh now I get you yeh will mix it to dilute it tiles They have are raised like ripples all going to have to be wet cut any quick ways around this as due to the texture dry cutting or scoring is going to be a bit tricky

Just the one socket the rest of the kitchen is being don in small subway tiles these are covering one wall 3m2 feature wall going to offer my personal preference they want them straight set but going to see what they think of vertical brick bond to tie in with the rest of the kitchen he smaller sub meat tiles will be horizontal brick bond long prosses then with the smaller wall all ways the way!
