hi All

I'm going to be laying some porcelain floor tiles.

I've got two tiling shops near where I live (excluding the sheds), both selling quality products: Tile Giant selling Mapei and Topps selling Bal etc

I have no preference for make as my experience is very limited.

Now I am looking for the cheapest porcelain adhesive I can find but it must have a long pot life - definitely not a rapid set.

Price is the main factor, the make isn't

I'd appreciate any recommendations?

Presumably price isn't the only factor.................you'll want them to stay in place as well.
There are numerous so called single part flexible adhesives on the market that are rated as C2 (suitable for porcelain) and their adhesion properties to low absorption surfaces (porcelain) and ability to cope with different thermal/moisture conditions vary.

The adhesive put forward by Sir Ramic is suitable but it is also rated as S1 which confirms that its suitabilty to deform has been measured by a third party to comply with the requirements of EN 12002. Its classification to EN12004 is C2TE so it has a standard setting time (24 hours) and the "E" relates to an extended open time.

You may wish to compare this to other products that you may be offered

I've got an old bag of Keraflex Maxi S1 in the garage. Just looked at the spec on the bag and although it's got an extended pot life it doesn't mention anything about suitabilty for use with porcelain?? Strange.

So even though it doesn't say anthing on the bag it's still suitable for porcelain?
