Hi All,
I am a complete novice at tiling and I'm about to renovate our small bathroom.
2 walls are external and 2 are skimmed honeycomb plasterboard. I had intended removing the plasterboard from the bathroom side and replace with no 12mm No More Ply backer boards to ensure the weight of the tiles (600 x 300 porcelain at 3.4kg each) would be supported but on creating a small hole in the plasterboard found that these are honeycomb walls. I don't think the installation of backer boards on these plasterboard walls is therefore an option as I don't want to disturb the other side of the wall.
I've removed the previous small ceramic tiles from the wall and the skim quality seems to be ok.
Would I be ok to tile directly onto this? I had already bought Eco Prim Grip Plus primer and Keraflex Maxi S1 adhesive as advised by the tile supplier.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Mark
