porcelin tiles spoilt by either grout or sealer

laid kitchen floor with porcelin tiles and everything fine,these tiles were white looked great but looks like the grout as soaked into the tiles and they will not clean have done everthing right could it be the tiles any ideas to remove this ,or should I START AGAIN

Are they glazed or polished porcelain, what grout was used

do you have any photos that you can post. It sounds like the grout has bled into the tile biscuit and then through to the face, presumably they're polished porcelain and not glazed?

I'm not a tiler but does grout actually soak into the tile?

We made a mistake once when we were not quick enough to clean off the excess
(for some reason we thought it OK to wait 24hrs)

The grout went rock solid and could not be removed even though it was a very thin layer.

Mind you the porcelain tiles didnt help. They were a textured effect so the grout got into all the nooks and crannies.

Anyway I hope you can reslolve without havign to re lay them

had this problem with a white ceramic tile, the grout did bleed into this tile!!!

If the tiles are Polished Porcelain then they should have been sealed before fixing on the surface and edges, fixed, then cleaned and then sealed again before grouting. This will stop the grout penetrating the edged and staining to surface.

As above as far as needing a few more details.

I presume we are talking white polished porcelain? What colour grout was used?

Polished porcelain has microscopic pores that grout can get into if they are not sealed before they are grouted.
