Possible hidden problems

Going to price a job today which should be mine through recommendation. I've already seen it and the original tiles have been laid on concrete mortar (It's a complete abortion) I need to get the old tiles up and dig the the floor out, but I'm concerned how easy will the concrete come up and the best tools to use on this.

You can always hire a breaker? If there is the choice Id ask the customer if you could take up a couple of tiles while you are there (out the way of course) and have a look, then you will have to get a price for getting a machine for the day.

I would also try to remove the tiles by hand and then use the machine for the mortar, just incase there are any pipes in dodgy places.

What size area & depth are you going to remove ?

If it's in the kitchen cover the doors to the units, could be bits bouncing everywhere.
