preparing natural stone tiles for tiling

I have seen some natural stone tiles done with out taking sharp edge off. How do you prepare your tiles? and how do you finish external corners. I personaly take sharpe edge off of tiles before tiling and most times do mitre on exeternal corners.

I discuss it with my customer and offer a few choice of edge finish, they choose and i complete.. simples.

This can range from square edge honed finish to chamfer or bull nose honed finish, to finishes in polished versions or even mitre if requested.. all part of the service of stone fixer..

personally would never use mitre wizz tool, i like to see when i'm cutting mitre. also, they showing only straight cut on the clip and possibly ceramick tiles. U have U,L, E shapes around recesses, windows . i use my rubi wet saw for that. And what about taking sharp edge off of tiles?

Hand diamond pads for taking the arriss off. or wet and dry.

i know how to do it and i allways do, but some tiles don't, is there a reason why?

That is because there are too many short course numpties who do 4 days and then move into stone work with no idea what they are doing with stone .

can i ask how do you finish your mitred corners? (grout, stone glue) i have seen some pics. on tf gallery where grout was washed deep in between tiles ( which looks wrong) for tiles i use 1"masking tape, fill joint and only wash once, then take masking tape off and smooth it when it 's dry. when i fit big slabs on walls i use stone glue and finish it with polisher
