Prepping glazed tiles for tiling over...

What is the best way to prepare a bad wall which has tiles on it, I dont want to remove them and would probable prime the existing tiles and skim with cement based adhesive in order to level things out before tiling.

Is this a suitable method?

Hi Rab, no value in priming...priming is for porous surfaces. Clean with sugar soap and go with mosaic fix....or similar, if you use tubbed ( ready mixed addy ) expect extended drying time...Gaz

Tiling over glazed tiles needs a very flexible adhesive to hold.....mosaic fix is spot on or if you can't get hold of it...try Rapid set with AD1.......nice strong mix.......make sure you degrease them first....

Cool, im sure I did it that way once, I cleaned the tiles with a glass cleaner and then used set fast plus ( a fast setting flexible adhesive) for tiling porclelain 60*30's onto the glazed tiles. Just making sure I'm safe this way.
