Hi everyone.
I've been offered to price for a tender on quite a large amount of floor tiling (over 100 meters, but broken up into smaller rooms) for a large contracting firm, when I went to look at the job to price it up I was told that there wasn't any point looking at it as there was heaps of demo work to be done & the tiling wasn't to be started until around a years time!
I have got architects drawings & quantity's of tiling in meters, but I've never priced up a job this big or without seeing what needs to be done first hand.
I'm thinking that if I put in a good meter rate for this then hopefully it will all level out ok.
What would you advise for labor only (I have to price for materials & tiles too) for laying 150x150 quarry tiles & how much per linear metre for the skirtings?
I'm a little bit worried about getting this one wrong as I have the potential of getting quite alot of work from this & also risk losing alot if I under price it.
So I guess what I'm looking for is a competitive rate per metre & should I be aware of other things regarding working for big contractors for example I'm expected to buy the materials so there is a big outlay of money from my behalf before I've been payed from the contractor:yikes:
Thanks in advance
Matt
