price of vans??

just wondering wat you lads normally would pay for a 2 year old van , vauxhall vivaro or renault traffic with approx 30,000 miles on it , in england or scotland ......

Ive been looking at the vivaro, primastar or trafic LWB HIGH ROOF and for an 07 plate with 40,000 on the clock in excellent condition it was £6300 +vat HOWEVER I havent seen one that price since and the dealers are asking about another £1000 - £2000 on top same van with a fewer miles slightly better condition (Which when you consider you can buy a new one for £11,200 IMO seems a little steep. LDV MAXUS is really well priced in the market at the mo! No warranty though since they've gone bust.

restored a floor for LDV's customer service director a few months back. His opinion was not to touch an LDV with a barge pole, full of problems. Mainly to do with sourcing the major components from other manufacturers - Ford etc.

The builders who I know own the maxus have had no complaints with them and describe them as reliable workhorses. Bt thx for the info.

Picked this up on the 10th 24,000mls its the sportive version 07 reg cost me £8180 with no vat from vauxhall.

oh and I'm on the south coast of England.

They can't, all they have done is given 15% extra discount and called in vat free! There will still be vat on the sale for which they will have to pay over.

Grumpy I agree, except if the buyer was vat registered and they had given it to him for the same price inc vat they would have done him a better deal as he would have been able to claim it back!

Q. Is the buyer vat registered?

no there was no vat on the van. If there was and vauxhall had sold me it with vat and deducted 15% it would of showed on the invoice but it didn't. The sales man dose alot of deals for my old man and was asked to look out for something for me knowing i'm not vat registered.

I think its because the previous owner had gone bust there for all his assets including his van which he was paying for monthly are then exemped of all v.a.t charges?
