Pricing a regrout

I know this is'nt everybodys cup of tea but was just wondering how others price for this sort of job(day rate m2).I've had 3 calls this week about regrouting.The last time i did a regrout(10m) i under estimated the work involved and only charged £200 including grout and silicone.I thought it would be a day and a half of work at the most but instead took me four days.Not only did i regrout and silicone but the odd tile kept popping and i had to replace them with the spare tiles the customer had.If i decide to take these jobs on and the monies right i'm thinking of investing in a fein multitool to help speed up the process.What are your thoughts.

I'd just be upfront with the customer and tell them your hourly rate, by all means give them a rough idea of how long you think it will take and maybe a maximum price and see what the response is.

i never price regrouts, the time it takes i reccon you could retile the bathroom lol.

but if you do price them then it would have to be a hourly or day rate, and to be honest i would be looking at £150 a day.

a customer asked me last week about regrouting her two shower areas, the grout was sound but just discoloured so I suggested using HG Mould Spray first. The job came up like new and only cost her £50 for two hours work.

Another option is to clean and recolour. I have used this recently and it was a lot better than the Aquamix type

9 times out of ten I convince the customer that the job needs a re-tile and the other one 1, I get someone else to do..... Charge an hourly of daily rate, as you can never be sure how long it's going to take.
