hi just a quick question if say for instance u charge £22-25 m2 for regular tiling ie no borders patterns on 8 m2 this works out £200 would you add the material price on to this as well as travel cost ?then put a percentage on top on the material figure ? would this sound about right when pricing work i have always been competitive with pricing work but generally guessing the going rate etc a day rate would be between 120-150 a day then plus materials but i prefer to charge by m2 if poss! would u charge day rate for bigger jobs and m2 smaller jobs ? or the other way round i have found smaller jobs to take longer than expected ie kitchen splash backs has x amount of sockets so a lot of cuts so i genrally charge £15-£20 each socket on top any advice and info would be great!

Sounds like your complcating your pricing more than you need to. ....if you need to earn a minimum of £150 a day to cover all your business cost and give you a decent wage
then your prices should reflect that. .
If you can complete a 3 m2 kitchen splash back in a day then charge £150 plus materials regardless of how many sockets there are the important thing is how long will it take and charge accordingly

Small or complicated jobs I price on a day rate..
Larger jobs or big meterage jobs I would price per m2 as long as the price don't go below my minimum day rates.

I work out how many days it will take me to complete the job. So that will be day rate x days. I buy the materials at trade (addy & grout), and charge the customer a rounded up figure to cover spacers cloths sponges etc. Items like metal trim i buy in bulk but only charge at Topps tiles trade price.
Travel costs are not passed on to customer unless it is a London job but then my day rate goes up. Travel is a business expense.

My next kitchen has 9 sockets to tile around with metal mosaics and epoxy grout. No way could iprice it up on meterage as cutting the tiles is going to take ages.
