Hi all.....

Does anyone know if there is a link on this forum explaining the difference between primers and bonding agents? I've searched but cannot find anything? Thanks.

Primers simply "prime" the surface generally reducing suction by reducing the pore size or blocking the pore structure at the surface completely. E.g. A simple water base acrylic solution like most tiling primers are or alternatively a water dispersed epoxy compound which goes compleyetly dry prior to tiling

Bonding agents tend to offer additional adhesive properties either chemically or mechanically e.g. A solvent epoxy which remains sticky prior to overlaying or a sand blinded polyurethane which has a rough texture to promote a key for subsequent adhesives.

Often the two get confused.
