Printer/scanner/fax all in one......

Need an all in one machine and the marketplace for this kind of thing is a minefield:yikes:

Any advice on manufacturer or model would be very appreciated

Whatever Tesco has on special at the time :lol:. No you're right it is a minefield and I'm not convinced there's much in it unless you're going for hi-res pics ( I may be wrong...in fact I probably am!). Worth considering the price of ink cartridges though. And deffo worth going for wireless.

As mentioned, whatever you look at in a printer check out the costs of replacement inks, it can be staggering.

Less and less as the programs used to send fax's from a pc need a modem as I understand it, and not a lot of new machines have the inbuilt already.

I've got a brother scan, fax, print, although the fax part is done from the computer using the scanner not by feeding the paper through it in a traditional style, I didnt think people faxed anymore its so 1980's...lol

Seriously though it has four cartridges, one black, one blue, one yellow and one cyan so if you print mainly in one or two colours you dont waste aload of ink by having just one multi coloured cartridge, and the cartridges are really cheap, I get them from pc friend and buy bundles of 8 cartridges for £15.

Cannon Pixma MP640 - best I 've ever had, brilliant all the way. And the cartridges are transparent, so you can see that you are using every last drop, not having to cope with some dodgy set-up where it won't work with ink still left in sahing it's empty. separate colours and single as well as double cartridge for black, very useful. Fax... nope ...

i have the cannon pixma 272, brill piece of equipment, i can't remember how much the replacement cartridge was but they last for ages. you can scan and print without even connecting it to your p.c. / laptop. only cost about 40 quid too from pc world

I have a brother MFC-5890CN A3 printer etc etc... All in one machine.. not cheap but inks are cheap and best price for originals is wrights office supplies.

Mines a HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Series great machine, but the ink is a bit pricey, great defination though for the drawings.

HP photosmart, 3 in one, we have had it 4 - 5yrs, so its probably not made anymore, but we have never had a problem with it. I have never sent a fax though.
