Procedure: Wall tiles or floor tiles first ??

A simple question, but my tilers have put the wall tiles on first, and are now laying the floor tiles.

This seems illogical as it is easy to see any imperfect cuts on the floor tiles.
wheras if the wall had been done last then looking down the imperfect floor tiles would be covered, and it is not immediately visable if a wall tile is cut badly.

Any suggestions would be received gratefully.

BTW I live in Thailand and 90% of the time they do things backwards here!!

floor first as imo its neater, although i do understand that if time is short it would be easier to tile the walls first.

i'd say walls first as then your not walking on the new floor but will be interesting to see waht people say.

i always put the floor tiles under the bottom wall tile,even if that means doing the walls first if i'm short on time and putting the bottom cut in last

Would a silicon bead not hide any 'imperfect cuts" or have i understood the question wrong:lol:

I prefer to do the walls first, as all your mess and overspill will land on the floor .

As per APH, put the bottom row in to finish.

However, in summary there is no right or wrong way, it is all down to personal preference and site conditions.

It is the end result which matters...
here my tilers do the walls first then rais the floor level and tile the floor.
The result is that none of the floor tiles can be slipped under the wall tules and the grout is visible whe you look down, so looks untidy.

I think much better to have the floor tiles slipped under the bottom layer of wall tiles.

But as I said earlier I live in LOS Thailand and they are very fixed in their ways .

Could you not run a silicon bead around the perimeter of the floor where the wall and floor tiles meet to make it look tidier and hide your cuts bud

Yes I think a good idea , I will get them to do that.

The grout I used is grey which looks good except along the walls so a White silicon beading will be good.

Yes I will look tomorrow, but in Thailand the choices are limited.
