Professional tiler for job in France

Hello,

Is there anyone out there interested in a job tiling the ground floor of a villa in the South of France near the Spanish border.

I own a house that is undergoing a renovation and needs the whole ground floor tiling ( about 85m2).

I suspect the job would take about 10 days and I would be available to labour and cut.

Would be interested in maybe part exchange some of the work for a good rate and maybe an agreed time use of the villa next year for a family holiday.The villa sleeps 8 and has a pool.

I already have the tiles ( 400x400mm ) and flexible adhesive.
I was going to do the job myself but am finding time a problem as I now want the job done.

This maybe of interest to some of you out there if work is geting a little thin on the ground in the UK. ?

Only time served professional people need reply.

I would want to speak to anyone beforehand so would need contact details and some sort of reference/experience.

It may help people if you said what sort of tiles they are and where in France it is! It may be a factor that needs to be taken into account regarding fuel costs and ferries when trying to price the job up or considering it

Some extra info :

The villa is situated near Perpignan.

I would try to organise a flight for the person via Ryanair rather than expect them to drive.

I would collect and return the person to and from the airport which would be either Bezier,Perpignan in France or Gerona in Spain.

The tiles are modern 400x 400 glazed ceramic tiles made by Villeroy and Boch.They are not rustic porous terracotta tiles.

Was hoping for someone in between jobs with a family who may be interested in the holiday next Summer in return for an excellent rate for laying the tiles.

To give some idea, self contained villas in this area sleeping up to 8 people with a pool in school holiday time could expect to charge anything up to 1800 euros a week.

What about their tools? Cutters, Trowels, Grout Floats, Wash Boy Etc Etc

Hello,

Have all the kit necessary as I have had to do some tiling myself in the past .This is my 4th renovation job ,having done nearly all the work myself so am familiar with many aspects of renovation including basic tiling.Having said that I am by no stretch of the imagination a professional tiler and appreciate the skill , experience and speed of a good professional tiler dealing with larger jobs, hence my request.

Thanks for the reply.I have had quite a good response to the ad via PM's.
Unfortunately I am in France at the moment doing other work on the propertyand wont be back till next weekend.( 11th/12th Oct).I can only get occasional access to the intenet over here so intend to leave it to sort when I get back to the UK.

i have a house in brittany myself and recently tiled the floor
being a proffesional tiler in the uk, i found the adhesive/grout and materials in general not that good. Sounds interesting though. Give me a buzz if you cant get anybody
