Pros and cons of butting travertine

Hi guys can anyone tell me as to the pros and cons of butting 60x40 travertine. Is it a better job? Thaks in advance guys.

no pros, all cons with butting trav, it needs joints.

Butt jointing.. BS 5385 is 2mm min walls and 3mm floors..
