Hello folks,

Never touch QRock black floor tiles !!!!! Getting the wax coat of the topp is a pain. Used Fila stripper / residue remover and still the wax wouldn't come off. Last resort I used white spirit and that did the trick.

But what annoyed me the most was that I checked with a well known tile company and they informed me to lay the floor and grout and then get the wax off the tile, I didn't think this was right so I double checked and they said thats the way to do it. But now the wax residue is stuck to my grey grout lines and it looks a mess.

They have said sorry to me, given me some cash back and said I have to dig the grout out and re- grout. My question to you guys - how deep should I dig the grout out too ? The depth of the tile is 8mm. We have under flloor heating aswell. They have said in the tile shop that dig about 2/3 mm out and re grout. Will this be ok ? as I don't want the grout to crack after a while. I'm using flexible grout. The grout lines are 4mm wide.

Been tiling a year and never come accross this problem before guys

Thanks

Hi i think it is only right that thay giv you cash back that is bad advice we sell a tile with a stong wax coating and we tell tilers and coustomer to get as much off as pos befor laying as for your re-grout i would go to 4mm to be safe and so u dont touch the underfloor heating and you will be fine with flexible grout just make cleen the old stuff away as best as pos and wash off the old dust and you should be fine thanks m.t.s
