Hi all, i recently had my bathroom done and had some Q-Rock tiles installed (100x100 Wall Tiles & 300x300 Floor tiles) black with light grey grout.

The person installing them didn't do a good job, and the grout has stained the tiles....I have tried several products with nothing managing to remove the stains?

Does any one have nay suggestions?

Well you have no come back on topps if they wernt sealed. They are made of porcelain so the use of one of these following the instructions should do what you need.

Lithofin cement away

Fila Deterdek

Check the instructions if you have underfloor heating m8

These Q-rock tiles have a textured finish.....and it is more than likely that it is just that the grout has grabbed into the grainy finish on the tiles....probably more down to leaving the grout too long before washing off...thus making it harder to clean off.......use lithofin cement away and a Scotch type emulsifying pad and it should come off....

That's true Dave. You've got to clean them thoroughly.
They were still staining though. The glaze finish was full of holes. Anyone using them - watch out for it!

This product from BAL is useful if grouting with BAL grouts.....

BAL Protective Sealer
protective.jpg

A water-based polymer emulsion specifically formulated to provide a temporary, protective coating to ceramic tile/mosaic surfaces during the grouting process. Suitable for use with all BAL grouting products.

BAL PROTECTIVE SEALER is a water dispersible temporary sealer designed to protect the tile surface against discolouration which may arise when using pigmented grouts. It is not a permanent sealer.

Nice post Dave, never seen that before.

the staining on these tiles is usually down to the wax protectiver coating put on these tiles by the manufacturer, fila recommend using residue remover extra strong after initial fixing but before groutn=ing to clean this off and also strongly advise using polished porcelain sealer to seal these tiles even though it is not 100% necessary it will apparently make them a lot easier to keep clean in the future
