Hi Guys and Girls
I ve got to lay some quartz tiles onto a bathroom floor on plyboard any ideas what type of adhesive(make) to use and any possible snags please?

Hi Brain, just been having a quick look on internet on adhesive manufacturers site to see what they say you should be doing when fixing to ply.
Looked at bal, weber and ardex so far, and all have different ways to deal with this surface.
This is why i stick to using Detra over ply.
When i get the call to tile a floor the ply is all ready down, so unless i want to unscrew it ( and probably remove shower) lift and fit as recommended so it can be tiled, that's why I use detra.

It's Ditra by the way

Yes Brain everyone works differently.
When i started in the 80's you would start of as a labourer and then move onto become an improver. Before you were let loose on your own jobs.
We were call abrasion and chemical engineers back then doing chemical resistance work in factories, breweries, dairies and chemical plants.

For someone who raves so much about Ditra, you never seem to spell it right. It's on big black capital letters on every metre of every roll.

Take the advice on the initial floor prep being given above, but don't bother fixing these quartz tiles unless you use a 2 part adhesive. In other words, one with a latex additive.

The extra spend is worth it
