I've got a couple of questions about tile trim. If anyone finds the time to read and answer this post i'd be very grateful.
1) Trims round windows - When triming windows, say the right hand vertical side, I tile up to within a tile of the window then stop and make sure the row going up is dead straight, then find the highest point of the cill and cut my tile 5mm proud of thi and then fix is. Then the rest of the tiles are cut to make a straight level line with this first tile. When the row is complete, sitting about 5mm proud of the cill, i slide the trim in behind the tiles. Problem is getting all the tiles cut prefect so that there is no in fill of grout where the trim meets the tiles. Is this how you guys do trims? Is there a better way?
2) This week i have 2 jobs that both require three way mitres of the trim. Basically, trim coming out of reveal half way up, trim along wall, then trim coming up vertical. How do you guys get round this? I usually mitre the 2 pieces that meet horizontally, then squash the end of the vertical piece that meets these two. Is there a better way of doing this?
