The tiles are rectangular mosaic, each tile is 18 x x 60mm, and they are on sheets of 75 tiles, each sheet is 315mm x 315mm.

We need to tile the following areas:
~ sink splash back (c. 180 x 860)
~ around the sink (230 x 860 - the sink)
~ behind the toilet to the floor (970 x 860)

seems a fiddly job mark, especially doing behind the cistern. i take it the customers not removing it? i'd do it on day work but i'd have to see it to give an idea how long/much

You can only quote on a prepared flat surface to tile on.
Up to 4 sheets of tiles required.
1 days labour.
Fast set adhesive.
Grout.
Trim if required.

he sounds like hes chasing a dozen quotes for the cheapest and that info hes given you is not enough mate

ask to see the job

He may of course realise that with such a small job he doesn't wish to waste everyones time and is trying to assess the costing prior to undertaking the job.
Could be a day filler and lead to future work - worth the courtesy of a phone call.

Hi thanks for input guys - I have replied to the email (having tried in last few days to call him several times and left messages) and said it really would be better to see rather then guesstimate but if he really wanted a ball park figure then quoted 1 - 2 days plus materials. So there is plenty of scope to change etc. He lives really near so hoping it will be pop in and provide a real price. Need the work at the moment !

Will let you know if he responds - I did wonder if he has done the rest himself and now its the fiddly bits. Still you never know it could lead to other work.
