Hello all this is my first post and first of all ide like to say how helpfull i find all the posts on here , so thanks.

I have to give a quote for tiling a kitchen come hallway come bathroom floor in porcelain , the tile is called GRAAL SINCLAIR COMBINATION. The m2 is about 24 metres.

Anyway no problems so far however the customer wants them laid in a specific bond. I believe it is called monocibic, (not to sure see attached pic). Just wondered if anyone had any tips and also how much to charge for this specific bond (m2) .

Cheers everyone cant wait for your replies

Hi there,
i laid a modular pattern similar to that 2 weeks ago,not the quickest to lay as you can tell from the pattern. If your floor is nice and level you will be ok,mine was attrocious!! i spent more time leveling tiles than laying which took me far longer than normal,i had over 60m of it to lay.
Price wise im not sure what the rate in your area is but im sure you could get £25-30 a metre easily for that. In my area i get about 15 a metre.not good.

Hi i would say £20 - £30 per metre is far too cheap for this type of pattern , i have laid many floors i this type of design and price at £45 per square metre.

Hope this helps and good luck:thumbsup:

Including or excluding materials? I'd want the £45 excluding materials for that pattern on a 24m2 floor.

If it was a regular grid pattern, I'd want in the region of £30 or so, excluding materials.

But then again, the market's different over here...

Im £20 a m2 for floors, patterns, porcelain whatever. Once you get used to a pattern its nearly as quick as square set. I did 25m of 3 tile pattern today (25 x 20 is a good days pay for anyone). I would get laughed at quoting 45 a m2 over here but good luck to the ones who can get it!
I only charge more for diamond set and fully rectified tiles (30 quid)
Prices dont include mats or prep work ie slc for rectified jobs.

Be careful setting out patterns, grout lines dont always follow and you will get slivers somewhere when doing 3 rooms, just make them in unobvious places.
