Rayburn soot residue

Morning all.does anyone know of a primer to stop soot from penetrating through.ive already put four coats of slurry mix on and there is still bleeding coming through(.i scraped all residue then cup ground wall before priming).bal couldn't help when I spoke to them !!!!!:smilewinkgrin:

I took down a flue in my kitchen and had exactly the same problem.

went to my local Dulux place, and they recommended this stuff........expensive, but it worked.

Thanks cj.I ended up taking the effected area back to the brickwork with the breaker then infiling with repair mortar(3 layers !!!!!)
