He was a local. Freind of a freind.......said freind is in the last week of a charity cycle ride from lands end to John o groats. tragic and such a waste. Just married last year. My thoughts are with his family.

Tragic, was living in Bournemouth for the last couple of years and loved watching the Airshow. RIP fella!

my next door neighbour knew him, the pilot did his training near here in r.a.f. valley (were prince william is based) he was a top notch pilot, he used to instruct the instructors, what a waste.

It is the first thing a pilot will think of if he is in trouble, what/who am I going to hit...then try to avoid it! Special breed of man a fighter pilot, I would carry their bags anytime!!!

There is about a 0.5 second delay between pulling the ejector handle and the initiation of the seat movement, and at low altitude this doesn't give you much time.

He crashed about 5 miles from my front door in Hurn. Iv been down to the beach to day to watch the last day of it, such a shame but also such a Miracle that he didnt kill anybody else. Such a shame, what more Can you say? R.I.P

watched them only a few weeks ago down at Lyme Regis and it makes you proud to be British

and it was my little lads 7 birthday today and the news was breaking last night about the crash

his first question this morning was how was the pilot and i told him what had happened and he cryed

We all need to reflex on what seem to be little things to us are massive in Kids eyes

RIP and thank you for bringing a massive smile to my lads face !

Seen them a few times and they're brilliant pilots. The best of the best.

One paper said he didn't bother trying to eject and found empty land, but the mail said he had tried to eject but he wasn't found in the seat. So not sure what went on there.

RIP - You'll be remembered for sure. Got a picture of them creating a love heart here.

From what I can gather, his shoot was found in the river, loads of people jumped in to save him but he wasnt attached to the shoot. Its so hard to work out whats Chinese whispers and what actually happened.
