I hear you. :)

Whilst there may be some areas lacking in numbers turning up I think there would be many that would love to go a monthly or bi-monthly meet and I think it could be good for the strength of the forum and to network and just generally chat in real life for once. :) I know some of the training courses and shows and stuff have had a decent turn out and people got on well so it can't be a bad thing.

I'll make a Central Scotland one now mate.

You say that Doug but the West Midlands is a big place but how many members does it have ???

I did call it just Midlands first but thought hmmmm that covers a big area. I'd like to end up with all county's covered with good turn outs but I don't know if that would be possible. Perhaps just a less regular, maybe bi-monthly meet, would make it worth travelling a bit for?

Hopefully some will turn up to some of the meets and it'll encourage others. If it's the same day of the month at the same time and place you wouldn't even need to keep sticking your name down for it, you'd just turn up when you can sort of thing.

it is a good idea. The CFA have regional meetings and they are genrally well supported. 2 a month in eanch reion though I think would be much too much. The cfa try to do 2 per year in each region. A freindly member company usually hosts it (last one I went to was at Ardex office in Haverhill) and they last a couple of hours. there is usually a guest speaker who does a presentation on something the members might be interested in. I have done a few presentations on prepping anhydrite screeds for floorcoverings. I would of course be happy to offer the same for any regional meetings in my own patch for TF. There is usually a presentation from the host company (It would be rude to use their facilities and then not allow them to speak). Usually followed by updates on the CFA from the chairman. Then its finish off with open questions, a buffet lunch and a chance for networking.

Typically there are upwards of 30 people at each meeting.
