Hello,
I looked at this forum last week when I got to massive problems removing UFH and backing in my bathroom.
I can't remember where the thread was now, but basically the comments were that this was a swine of a job.
I stumbled across an idea that worked which I would like to share if anyone is interested.
The problem was once I had removed the tiles the mat, adhesive and tape were stuck so well to the backing board that I couldn't see the screw heads that were holding the board to the floor boards underneath.
This was my solution which worked a treat although stating the obvious goggles and ear defenders were necessary:
1. Cut mat with stanley knife.
2. Get circular saw.
3. Set circular saw, so that just enough was sticking out of the base plate to go through the backing board, without going through the underlying floor.
4. Cut a grid into the backing board, making squares about 2 feet square.
5. Then hammer bolster under sections of board cut into squares.
6. Push in crow bar and lever off.
Probably stating the obvious or giving instruction to an elderly female relative on how to apply a partial oral vacuum to avian reproductive assets ( teaching a grandmother how to suck eggs).
