Hi all,

I have been doing a kitchen splashback and today was time for grouting, when i started the grout was sticking to the face of the tile (i spent most of the day cleaning every tile).

Should I have done anything different? (it was my first time using both porcelain and a rough faced tile)

Is there a chemical or abrasive pad i can purchase to make the clean-up operation easier (or avoidable).

Is there something i should be using to polish the tiles up after cleaning?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance Dave.

some tiles can be like that mate. You just need to go over and over them. Work clean, when you grout the joints take as much grout of the tile as you can with the float and continue to do this. The less grout you leave behind the easier it is to clean afterwords.

Tiles with lots of little holes on the face harbour the grout making it more work when it comes to cleaning etc.
