Any body got roomscan app for iPhone 5.Just been playing about with it and once you figure out how it works it's not bad they do a light version.

You walk round a room and place your phone on every wall keeping it level. Takes a while to work it out but it will give you shape of room with dimensions and m2 of floor. I did my living room last night its funny snapped room and it was spot on. It did take a few goes but after practice it not bad good for funny shaped rooms quicker than tape and pencil.

That's true but people have always got a phone on them there's many a time I've got to a quote in my car and left everything in the van. Once the customer left me to measure a floor and had to use my feet.

I use one called magicplan . You stand in the centre of the room and slowly move round in a circle and drop cones in the corners/ doorways etc then it magically makes a proper floor plan much faster than any architect I've ever seen :lol:

I have this app. It's very good on a rectangular or square room, but seems to lose a bit of accuracy on more complicated shapes. You can manually change a wall size and this makes the rest of the room more accurate.
Overall I think it's very good as you have an instant copy and can be saved.
