Are these really as good as folk here are saying or just a gimmick???

I use a Marcrist PG850 wet core kit for holes and it flies through, albeit a bit of a faff to sort the water feed out,etc...

i used that Rotozip with different size xbits drilling holes through porc and its excellent! A great bit of kit (blooming noisy and dusty - but easy!).

Theres a tradeday coming up, going to try to get along to try one out. Some offer on at CTD, not sure of the model but a few accessories thrown in, and an England shirt!! Make a good duster if you're scottish!!

I bought one of these from Tradetiler a while ago, i had a kitchen floor to do. It had a laminate floor which needed to come up, the laminate ran continuously from the hallway and they only wanted to change the kitchen.
This machine was brilliant for cutting the laminate across the threshold of the door allowing me to remove the kitchen floor without disturbing anything else

well i will say its good for some jobs , but as far of drilling many holes in porcelain who are you trying to kidd , it will strip the diamonds off as it gets to hot as it runs so fast, have had 4 bits replaced , tried it for 5 months and have stopped using it , just use it for repairs and trimming , its good for ceramics and some floors but not alot. CTD are fed up of replacing bits and iam not the only one that has send this,

I am sorry to hear of your issues with the Diamond X-Bit. But you really should try our new X-Cores. The larger sizes (25mm, 30mm and 35mm) will do over 100 holes, DRY! and depending on the thickness of the tile, it takes about 10 seconds (Thicker tiles will take a few seconds more). If you dip the bit in a cup of water just to quench the diamond after evry hole or couple of holes, you will get at least 100 holes out of those sizes.

i wouldnt say that really does not answer my issues, with bore bit you recommend for porcelain a few months ago, the x cores now you say should be dipped into water which would make more sense, but i have heard this all before, drill 100 holes, in what products are you getting these results?

Looks good, you would not believe how many brands i've been through. Our rooms are generally porcelain or stone. Definitely gonna look into tooling the lads up with these.

By the way, dust is far better than slimy refractory, marble or porcelain residue.

ironically enough, phil hobson was showing / demoing his today, very impressed.. tilers are needing as much tools as joiners nowdays..also, the benefit of it be dry hole cutter wins me. so thats on my list to tradetiler with a another dewalt d24000 110v..
