Round or square notch trowel?

From what I can gather from this very helpful forum, to fit 10mm thick mosaics, I need a 4mm trowel.

It seems that to get a solid bed, you need a rounded notch trowel or is that on the larger sizes? Most of the 4mm trowels seem to be square notched.

square notch for me all the time ,hate round notch they only hit the depth at the peak of the serration.

Hi Anna, yes , 4 mm is right choice under ideal condtions / correct prep... square notch is fine
