tiler burden

hi all

i am just about to order the above from neil at buybrand tools and i was wanting to know will the cutting length be adequate for most natural stone. i know porcelain goes past a meter long but i am thinking more about travetine, marble, granite tiles and slate.

part 2 of the question...

if i am going to be laying alot of 600x600 porcelain diagonally, then is it a case of buying a tx900n?? i have the tx700 and i dont mind paying if it saves me time and makes me money?

any help, gladly appreciated

cheers

i bought the same machine a few months back and have done various natural stone jobs since and had no problems with size of cutting bed. but cutting thicker stone you may want to use variable blade depth to make a couple of passes as i found it cuts a lot easier and puts less strain on machine. i also had to make a splash guard to go between me and the blade i was getting soaked,it spits out a lot of water but cuts like a dream. definatly get one!

that was a good clip dave. when i bought my cutter the guy in the shop was also a tiler and had to make the barrier and advised me to do the same. i noticed the guy in the video was also wearing waterproof overalls and there was quite a reasonable amount of spray coming from his machine as is mine! thanks for grout advice the other day mate very usefull

thanks dave mate ;0)

i am trying to get into porcelainosa at the moment and alot of their tiles are large format so i will be dipping into the january transfer market and splashing out on a dw250 and a tx900 along with some industrial diamond drill bits, possible rubi or makrist. i will be giving mike ashley at newcastle a run for his money because its the only thing to look forward to up here since laurel and hardy took over liverpool lol

thanx again mate
