Salt residue

Hi guys

My plasterer has a query that I hope you guys can help answer.

There is a salt residue appearing on a fireplace wall. The wall itself is bone dry though it looks like limestone. The salt itself appears certain times of the year & can be wiped off.

The wall itself needs stripped back, bonded or sheeted & skimmed but want to resolve this salt problem at the same time.

Any ideas guys?

Here you go gus, just used this on a tanking job, knock off old plaster, brush off and spray this or the like on ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367495238.386234.jpg

That looks the business. I'm not very good at translating but I take it that's an anti salt agent? Where do you get it?

Is the fireplace in use and is the chimney lined if it is in use...

I'll forward on your question & get back to you. As far as I'm aware, it is an old high ceiling house. Whether its in use or not, I couldn't tell you.
